In accordance with Section 6 of its Guidelines, the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1718 (2006) makes accessible a narrative summary of reasons for the listing for individuals, groups, undertakings and entities included in its sanctions list.
Mun Cho’ng-Ch’o’l was listed on 7 March 2013 “as being engaged in or providing support for, including through other illicit means, DPRK’s nuclear-related, other weapons of mass destruction-related and ballistic missile-related programmes.”
Mun Cho’ng-Ch’o’l is a “TCB [Tanchon Commercial Bank] official, [and] in this capacity he has facilitated transactions for TCB. Tanchon was designated by the Committee in April 2009 [and] is the main DPRK financial entity for sales of conventional arms, ballistic missiles, and goods related to the assembly and manufacture of such weapons.”
